I love it when I find something that makes me ooh and ahh - literally, out loud : )

Yael Erel and Avner Ben Natan from Lightexture sum it all up...

"We work together, as an architect and a lighting designer, to explore light through the construction of lighting fixtures, which adjust through time, and draw light and texture in space.

Coming from two different disciplines we explore this field together with different sensibilities and skills. In our light construction we incorporate ready-made objects, lighting components and constructed elements. The lamps are fitted and assembled by hand in our studio.

One of our goals is to create energy efficient fixtures, while maintaining our focus on their atmospheric and spatial performance."

Yummy Ink

When our eldest son was small I used to lie him under the clothes rack and dangle bits and bobs from it using pegs and ribbons...a rudimentary version of these gorgeous Eco-Friendly Art Mobiles from Yummy Ink.

Each mobile is hand made using recycled and non toxic materials, and a touch of inspiration from nature...

"Since I was little I have been attracted by Alexander Calder Mobiles. He invented them in 1931 and the French artist Marcel Duchamp suggested the name "mobile" for the singular mechanized creations. I can stand for hours in front of them, contemplating the elements gravitating into the space, taking advantage of the principle of equilibrium."

Yvestown. Have you visited there?

Yvonne Eijkenduijn recently 'made over' her Yvestown blog...she is now building up a collection of features in all sorts of categories - including In the Kitchen, In the Garden, Things to Make and Places to Go...and gorgeous bit and pieces of course!
