Suzanne Carlsen + Steffen Tuck + Small Acorns

Hello!

How is your day going? So far mine has been really full. My eldest son shared his latest artwork in school assembly today, so we went to support him and cheer him on... I am also organising a movie fundraiser for school, so there has been some money and ticket juggling going on, and now in the other room, I have a friends son sleeping peacefully as I try and get this finished for you all to enjoy... I have promised myself a cup of tea when this is finally finished!

Suzanne Carlsen

Suzanne Carlsen is one clever lady - a graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design and in her second year as a Craft Studio Resident at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Suzanne produces this collection of intricate embroideries encased in metal shields, badges and banners.

"In using traditional as well as contemporary techniques and materials, Suzanne imbues her pieces with worth and meaning. Suzanne is informed by the history of the materials she uses as well as the current context in which they will be worn. She combines a variety of media—textiles, metals, objects, paper and paint—to amplify the value and quality of her works. Inspired by history and contemporary forms alike, Suzanne’s jewellery pieces have both timeless and current appeal. "

Steffen Tuck

I am a tactile kind of girl, I like to be able to feel things in my fingers. Things that have texture are well, irresistible.

Steffen Tuck from 3 Girls and a Goat, produces this gorgeous collection of paper products. Heavily embossed Note card and Envelope sets sit beautifully next to her Collaged, Stitched and Embossed gift cards...pretty, pretty, pretty!!!!
