Julia Beck + Because We Can + Book By It's Cover

Hello! I hope your day is going well so far... we have had a few internet hiccups this morning but all is well now. I am eager to get this 'b' underway... are you ready? let's go!

Julie Beck

Julie Beck is a multi talented artist who works in a variety of creative mediums - motion graphics, video editing, graphic design and painting.. and it is her paintings that I want to share with you today...

I have always been in awe of artists who paint in realism. It was this first image below of Julie painting a mason jar that made me stop and want to delve deeper.

Julie has a unique ability and desire to reinterpretate story's through her paintings;

"I paint because I am a constant communicator and, for me, a visual vocabulary provides a highly fluid, accessible, and expressive way to tell stories...From that beginning, I layer vibrant colors, bold lines, and often iconic images to fashion works that appear simple and balanced in tone and composition, but strive to articulate more complex and resonant stories beneath."

Because We Can

"Our vision is that the combination of computer automated tools, building information modeling, great people, raw creativity, and modern management ideas will allow us to make the world a more interesting and better place by making great things happen affordably. We plan to do this all while keeping a philosophy of sustainability. We choose sustainable and environmentally friendly materials to work with, as well as sustainable method of working, so that we can continue to do what we love. Forever."

Jillian Northrup and Jeffrey McGrew from Because We Can are responsible for that fab statement above... and for the fun goodness that is below... enjoy!

I am honored to include Book By It's Cover in this wonderland of ours : )

No doubt you have seen the work of Julia Rothman... she is a pattern and print master who produces the most gorgeous works for a whole bunch of clients. I regularly drool over her wallpaper collection!

Julia also compiles this beautiful blog 'Book By It's Cover'. Book By Its' Cover is a fantastic catalogue of the most beautifully illustrated and interesting books. From Children's Books to Sketchbooks, it's all there to dive in to... "I wanted to share all the nice books I regularly notice and have collected over the years." Thanks Julia! A Book By It's Cover is a wonderful resource : )

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

After a night of rain, the sky is blue, blue, blue! We have teeny carrots poking their heads out in our garden at the moment, sitting alongside seed grown spinach, lettuces and calendula. This is our first vegetable crop since we have been living in our house and the boys are at a perfect age to enjoy the planting and (soon to be) harvesting. - very exciting!

I hope your day is full of sunshine too - if not outside, at least in your heart : )

Have a great day! see you tomorrow...
