Wood and Wool Stool

Hi there!

It's been a couple of days I know! Things have been hectic! I havent stopped thinking about this wee alphabet though and have been wanting to find the time to finish it off in a manner in which it deserves... finally, I have a moment to share these last four letters of alphabet*eight... let's go!

Wood and Wool Stool

This is another great discovery by the lovely Deborah over at Kickcan and Conkers. I followed Deborah's advise and visited Ingrid Jansen's Wood and Wool Stool website and blog - and oh me, oh my, Ingrid is one clever gal!

I have always loved crochet, we used to stock gorgeous crochet by Anne Claire Petit in our store - love! The day I find a perfect vintage granny square blanket I will march it directly to the end of one of my boys beds!

Ingrid's vibrant colour choices and her effortless combination of traditional crochet with rustic wood, bring together to a collection that is both welcoming and beautiful - you should check it out...

Aqua Velvet + RE

Hi there : )

We are doubling up letters today - mainly because finding Q is proving to be getting trickier and trickier! If you have any Q suggestions feel free to drop me a line...

Aqua Velvet

Amy Henderson's
Aqua Velvet store has a nice mixture of original works, 1930's WPA reproduction prints and vintage goodies. I have chosen pieces from her artwork collection to share with you today.

"One of my favorite slices of vintage americana are posters created during the 1930’s-1940’s by various artists commissioned by the Work Projects Administration (WPA) as part of President Roosevelt’s “New Deal” initiative. Many of the artists worked in a very simplified graphic illustration style with bold hand-lettered typography.

The original silkscreen, lithograph and woodcut posters not only had great eye appeal but were assuredly very effective in publicizing health and safety programs; cultural programs including art exhibitions, theatrical, and musical performances; travel and tourism; educational programs; and community activities throughout the United States."

RE

A while ago over at Kickcan and Conkers I was introduced to a great UK store 'RE'. Inspired, owned and operated by Simon Young & Jenny Vaughan, RE is chock-full of all sorts of treats and goodies - and available online too!

"More of our products are presented online; our most REcent finds, some favourites; some raRE or REmarkable; some REcycled; some REscued and REstored; and look out for REgd. - our unique range of originals and textiles designed by RE, and made locally whenever possible."

I love shops that take you on a journey, through the past and the present... RE does just that.

Kocorococo + Jane Kathryn Kolles + Kickcan and Conkers

Hello!

I hope your weekend was wonderful - and your Monday is going great : )

We had another lovely weekend, we spent time with friends, ate good food and celebrated a victory - all good!

I am a bit behind this week, so, let's go!

Kocorococo

I love this first print by dynamic duo Kocorococo...in fact, I was pretty amazed to find out that Kocorococo is actually a duo as their work is so similar in style - Corcoise and PoorSailor aka Veronica Navarro and L Filipe dos Santos are freelance illustrators and graphic designers living in Madrid.

"Our little factory is located in our living-room, so we assure you that all our pieces are 100% home-made.We paint, draw, sew, model, customize, dance, etc. and sometimes we sleep. We wish the day had 30 hours so we could do more painting, drawing, sewing, modelling, customizing and dancing...And, of course, more sleeping. "

Jane Kathryn Kolles

Jane Kathryn Kolles (also known as Right Brain Jane) is a freelance textile and fabric designer that I discovered over at Spoonflower. Her unique mid century inspired prints are rich in texture and hand drawn elements, and the colour palette of this first print below - divine!

Not only can you purchase Jane's patterns as fabric, you can also jump over to her cultureshop where she sells journals and notebooks in a whole swag of different patterns... enjoy!

Oohlala!

Deborah from Kickcan and Conkers has AMAZING taste and I so enjoy visiting her online - I think you will too : )

"Hi, I’m Deborah, a Yorkshire lass now living in a beautiful village in the South of France with my husband Dominique and our three great kids, Dylan, Savannah and Miles.

I’m passionate about the arts, home decor and thrifting. I especially love collecting vintage books, toys and paper goods. Besides enjoying family life, renovating our house, tending to the veggie patch and scouring French flea markets, I'll soon be opening a new online shop called Kickcan and Conkers selling a handpicked collection of vintage and modern treasures for children.

Bienvenue chez moi!"

see you soon, xxoo.
